New York, NY — September 2026 — Victor Gallery is pleased to present WOVEN THROUGH TIME, a special event on Saturday, September 26, 2026, bringing together antique rugs, contemporary craftsmanship, and artist-designed textile works.
The presentation features a selection of antique rugs from the Victor Gallery collection, alongside contemporary rugs from Turquoise Mountain and distinctive rug works by multidisciplinary artist Ido Michaeli.
Central Park Carpets
Central Park Carpets is a collaborative project between artist Ido Michaeli and Afghan weavers through Turquoise Mountain.
Guests are invited to view a selection of carpets from the project and join us for a short lecture and open conversation about the work, the collaboration, and the relationship between contemporary art and traditional craftsmanship.
Ido Michaeli (b. 1980) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in New York and Connecticut. His practice spans textiles, stained glass, ceramics, painting, and video and explores cultural identity, interculturalism, tradition, and the relationships between different communities and worldviews. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally.
Through these three perspectives, WOVEN THROUGH TIME invites collectors, designers, and visitors to experience rugs not only as decorative objects, but as works that carry histories, traditions, cultural exchange, and contemporary artistic expression.
